Men prevent FGM. Men are part of the solution and FGM is not done our name

Men prevent  FGM. Men and boys play a critical part in stopping female genital mutilation (FGM).

Men role ‘not in my name’

Freedom see men and boys as instrumental in the helping to eradicate female genital mutilation (FGM).

Freedom spoke to over 500 students in a recent school visit and the boys saw themselves as key to ending female genital mutilation (FGM).

In many cultures boys and men are seen as more important than girls and have more influence.

Freedom’s Ambassadors programme is actively finding men and boys volunteering to sign up to to stop female genital mutilation (FGM). #EndFGM Men stop female genital mutilation

Over 200 million women and girls have undergone and Freedom Charity  is working with schools, colleges universities, front line professionals to end female genital mutilation (FGM).

I had no idea what female genital mutilation (FGM) was, why it was done, was it religion, was it fathers not wanting their daughters become sexual icons.

Was it hormonal?

Understanding the myths and superstitions that read in Cut Flowers by Aneeta Prem, I understood the issues.

‘Maybe from a girl’s point of view, seeing men who are not against it, must mean it is ok to be cut?

If one group of boys stand up and retweet it, then you have two, then three, suddenly a wave coming together, doing little bits, will soon mount up to something that could be huge.’

If we can get ordinary people wearing the red triangle in their workplaces, at home or during their day to day lives. It will soon attract the attention of celebrities, and people of a higher power. This will have a mass effect on the people that skip past and don’t bother to take action.

Everyone wants to be able to save lives, who wouldn’t?  Men prevent  female genital mutilation by taking about it and agreeing its wrong and we do something about it.

Are you able to let this awful abuse on young girls or are going to be part of my generation that stop female genital mutilation (FGM).

This doesn’t mean you have to donate 100’s of pounds.

Or travel abroad to prevent a girl being cut, which could lead to infection, serious illness and even death in the worst cases.

Even a like or share will make a difference.
